Camarines Norte enforces 2-week MGCQ

DAET, Camarines Norte, May 11 (PIA) - The provincial government of Camarines Norte enforced a two- week strict implementation of the policy guidelines under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) in the province due to sudden increase of COVID-19 confirmed cases.

The Provincial Incident Management Team (IMT) issued the said guidelines to protect its constituents and mitigate the social, economic and security impact of COVID-19 pandemic. The MGCQ took effect May 10, Monday until May 21.

The policy guidelines were signed by Governor Edgardo A. Tallado and Incident Commander of Unified Command Atty. Don Culvera.

Under the guidelines, the twelve (12) Local Government Units (LGUs) are encouraged to implement community quarantine restrictions most applicable to their needs and capability to contain and prevent further spread of the corona virus in their localities at the earliest time.

The Department of Health (DOH) on the Zoning Containment Strategy (ZCS) may be implemented when deemed necessary and where applicable upon the approval of the LGU municipal Task Force and to submit necessary documents to the Provincial Task Force for the concurrence of the provincial governor and approval of the Regional Inter-Agency TasK Force for COVID-19.

The classes of elementary and high school were suspended provincewide from May 10-23 this year including the face-to-face classes of all tertiary and vocational courses.

All the twelve (12) local government units in the province and the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte are hereby ordered to restrict the movement of the all their respective employees concerned.

Food establishments, resorts, recreational facilities are allowed to operate on a 50% capacity only and the operations of establishments are hereby advised to strictly observe the DOH minimum health standards and to enforce the accomplishment of the contact tracing forms.

The policy also stated that only the Department of Tourism (DOT) accredited hotel establishments and or accommodations are allowed to operate.

Individuals fourteen (14) years and below and sixty-six (66) years old and above are not allowed outside their residences, except for medical and health emergencies.

The ambulant vendors and related establishments, operating at or within the Cory Aquino Boulevard and similar municipal rest areas are limited to 50% only.

Mass gatherings are highly discouraged, including face-to-face interaction of individuals within the barangay, inter-barangay meetings and other non-essential activities.

All the 12 municipal LGUs are remided to maintain and sustain the operation and management of Barangay or Municipal/Community Isolation Unit to ensure strict observance of the MGCQ guidelines. (PIA5/Camarines Norte)
